Founder + Health Coach "...nothing tastes as good as healthy feels."
Welcome, I am so happy to have you visit! My name is Chloe, and my mission through Nutritional Gangster is to share the joy of healthy living. Among the many hats I wear, I am a plant-based chef, yoga instructor, educator and adventurer. I am based out of Seattle, although I was born and raised near Boston, have lived in Paris, New York and Memphis, and I consider my spirit homes to include Sedona, Joshua Tree and the many parks of Utah. I am grateful for my health and the opportunity to relate with others. I was a chubby little girl who grew into a teenage woman with eating disorders. Throughout school, I excelled in sports, not the classroom. (I know now that this was, in part, because attention deficit disorder and dyslexia was not identified until later in life.) I became a collegiate athlete and exercised constantly, and yet I still felt unhappy with my body. It was only when I was in motion that I felt comfortable in my own skin, and so I started to explore yoga when I had free time from team events. And I started to feel a bit happier in my body. Things really changed for me when I cared for my Nana as she died from cancer. Feeling her suffering in the last moments of her life brought my spirituality to life. I found solace in my deepening yoga practice, and I nurtured my spirituality even more. I soon focused my curiosity on one question: How can we live the freest from dis-ease? I was initially influenced by books like Siddhartha Mukherjee’s The Emperor of All Maladies and Thomas Yarema’s Eat-Taste-Heal: An Ayurvedic Guidebook and Cookbook for Modern Living. I then studied to become a Health Coach, graduating from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2011, and achieved my RYT 200 yoga instructor certification at YogaWorks in Paris. I have discovered that, for me, living the freest from dis-ease begins with eating wholesome, nutritious, plant-based foods and practicing yoga. It also takes a large dose of love and compassion toward others. By implementing these elements in as many facets of my life as possible, I Love my new body
Have more energy than ever before
Have more joy in daily life
have grown to love my body, to have more energy than ever before, and to
I cannot wait share it with you!
I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Saint Mary’s College of California, and attended Williston Northampton Prep School in New England.
